48V-to-12V DC-DC Converter Failure (P1A20): The "Death Loop" - car bricks itself when converter fails because there's no alternator. 12V battery dies, contactors open, car becomes non-runner. Do NOT assume 48V battery is dead! Connect BSU to 12V terminals and run TOPIx "Battery Replacement" routine to wake contactors.
P0AA1-00 Code: Battery contactor stuck closed - requires contactor replacement
Stop/Start System Malfunction: 48V battery degradation causes start/stop failure. Belt Integrated Starter Generator (BISG) cannot maintain charge cycle.
12V Battery Constant Drain: DC-DC converter not charging 12V battery properly, leading to repeated flat battery symptoms
